Birds occupy different types of habitats. They are found in the air, land and water. Great work has been carried out to study their species, ecology, physiology, population and community structures. The present work aims at studying the relationship between bird communities and habitat in Pandam forest reserve and surrounding farmlands. Attention is mainly directed towards the roles of birds as indicators of the state of environment.
