Cocoyam once regarded as dietary for impoverished but today is a staple food for more than 400 millions in the tropics and sub- tropics and raw materials for industries. Adoption of relevant technologies and efficiency in resource use have been promoted by government, non - governmental organization (NGO) and research as options in boosting the production and productivity.
