Political parties are indispensable mechanisms for promoting democratic governance and mobilizing people for participation. Yet, the efforts to develop democracy through political party systems in Ghana as in the case of many African countries has witnessed a plethora of both organizational and institutional deficits relating to internal democracy and poor conflict management mechanisms within the political parties resulting in the wide spread of intra-party conflicts.
