This book is short extract of multiple literature available in the market for Video coding standards H.265 and H.264. Video content generates enormous amounts of data and in order to transfer it over today’s communication links, there is a need for efficient compression. The compression, often called coding, of video, consist of two parts the encoder which compress the data and the decoder which interprets the compressed bit stream and regenerates the video data. These two parts together are called a codec (Coder/Decoder). The demands on the codecs have grown enormously in recent years with the increased use of digital video with higher resolution and quality. Everything from high-quality DVD and BluRay movies to low bit rate video conference and mobile phone video conversations needs efficient codecs to compress the signals for maximize quality at a limited bandwidth.
