Summary:
Record of Penitence contains five short stories of social and political nature, that tackle two aspects of life : The first one is the political aspect, which is clearly illustrated in the first story ,i.e., "Mr.Sherif ", which shows how that man became entirely desperate to achieve reform . As for the second aspect; it is almost moral, and reflects the struggle between good and evil in the human soul. This aspect is clearly illustrated in Tawfiq Zaydon's story ,i.e.,"The Wreath of Shame" and the story of "Nebuchadnezzar " .
