Water is a scarce resource. Water management in agriculture becomes a challenge for every farmer in our country. The findings on the efficiency of water use by the respondents would reveal the real scenario and thus would help the planners and policy makers to formulate appropriate strategies to improve the Water Use Efficiency. Also, it would enable them to understand and plan for evolving water saving techniques in agriculture. The findings on socioeconomic and psychological characteristics, their knowledge and adoption level would help them in designing appropriate training strategies for the farmers in both irrigated and rainfed farming systems on water management techniques.

(Agri) in Tamilnadu Agricultural University, PG and Ph.D. at Annamalai University.
