Increasing demand of energy day by day and depletion of fossil fuels, it focuses our attention towards unconventional energy resources. From all of the sources available to us solar energy is the best option with minimum environmental impact. But the problem lies in efficiently collecting and converting this energy in to something useful form. The present study has been carried out to increase the performance of flat plate solar collector by using micro channel collector plates.
Microchannels unique properties of heat transfer has been proven during experimentation on flat plate solar collector. Perfect aspect ratio of microchannels chosen gives maximum percentage of efficiency in indoor apparatus. Varying fluid velocities contribute surprising results of heat transfer during simulation and actual experimentation.
