The present text is about the major radionuclides of concern including Cs-137, Sr-90, H-3 and Natural Uranium which are of concern in relation to their potential hazard, similar chemistry to the essential elements and geo-availability. The book discusses their distribution in different environmental matrices, their transfer to the plants and further in the food chain. It also encapsulates the globally reported concentrations in relation to environmental matrices.
Manbir Singh has expertise in environmental radionuclides’ monitoring and soil quality analysis. He completed his Doctoral Thesis in Analysis of Radionuclides and their Dosimetry from Guru Jambheshwar University of Science and Technology. He has five years of teaching and four years of research experience under DAE-BRNS Fellowship.
