The synthesis of different ligands substituted tetra metallophthalocyanine (Co, Ni, Cu, Fe, Zn) to explore their electrochemical applications. We have cinnamide, octadecylamine, Amine-PEG2-Biotin, ganciclovir, poly (L-lactide) amine and schiff base ligand derivatives containing N4-macrocyclic moiety. All the synthesized macromolecules were explored for oxidation, reduction, reversible, irreversible, quasi-reversible and redox mediators for enzyme based glucose, hydrogen peroxide, nitrate, ascorbic acid, dopamine, uric acid, L-cysteine, hydrazine sensors. Further we report the use of carbon nanomaterial such as multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) for modification of electrode surface to enhance the electrochemical oxidation, reduction and electron transfer of substituted MPCs and for many potential applications including electrochemical sensors, biosensors. The stability of the modified electrode surface was due to the strong π–π interaction between substituted MPCs and MWCNTs. The main aim of the present work is utilization of the special properties of the MWCNTs-substituted MPCs/GCE and used as an electrocatalyst for the oxidation of different bioanalytes.
