Usage of the consumer electronics products such as TVs has increased rapidly with the emerging technological developments recently, therefore limiting the power consumption of such devices have become more critical. Switched Mode Power Supply (SMPS) topologies that allow higher efficiency compared to linear supplies became prevalent after the 1960s. Flyback converter is one of the SMPS topologies and very popular in low power applications thanks to its capability to provide multiple outputs, design simplicity and low cost. In this book, quasi resonant switching based flyback converter is analyzed, related design equations are extracted and the converter is designed in accordance with universal input voltage range. Also power loss model of converter is analyzed and verified with practical results.

Yunus Sahin was born in Trabzon, Turkey in 1990. He received his M.Sc. degree in electric-electronics engineering from the Dokuz Eylul University Izmir, Turkey, in 2012. His main research areas include, analog electronic circuit design and high efficiency power conversion.
