Substance abuse among youth is a major concern in southern Africa. It includes the frequent use of illegal drugs such as marijuana, cocaine, heroin and many more. Botswana faces a serious challenge of substance abuse among youth in both rural and urban areas. These study reports the level of use of marijuana in Botswana, factors distributing to marijuana use, both negative and positive effects of marijuana and the solutions to the abuse.
Widzani Judith Amos
Ms W J Amos (March 7,1999) is a young researcher, demographer, economist and a statistician. She is a university of Botswana graduate under department of population studies. She participated in Population Association of Southern Africa 2019 and Union for African Population Studies 2019. She is also a member of Population Youth Development forum.
