This book is about the history of Indian cinema. Dadasaheb Phalke was the pioneer of Indian cinema. Satyajitray, Sambenagal, Adurthi Gopalakrishna, C. Pullayya and others are the famous directors to bring glory to the Indian cinema. Indian cinema is the backbone of Indian economy. It has provided employment to the lakhs of people. Several acts have been enacted by both Central and State Government to govern the film industry. Producers, directors, dance masters, location artists and actors have formed a part of film industry. The Government yields more tax from the film Industry. Cinema is an important means to protect Indian heritage and culture. Indian movies are a source for classical art and the beauty of India can be witnessed through cinema. Ramayana and Mahabharatha are brought close to the Indians and touched their hearts. Indian religion and culture is picturised by great movies produced in India. Love stories, marriage bondage and Indian folklore can be visualised by Indian Cinema. Rajkapoor, Rajesh Khanna, Amitab Bachan, N.T. Ramarao, A. Nageswararao, Sridevi are the famous film stars to move the hearts of Indian spectators.
Author is Dr. K. Somasekhar - visually challenged and presently working as Professor in the department of History, Dr. V. S. Krishna Govt. Degree and P.G. College Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. The author is awarded 3rd Rank in History and Gold Medal in Master of Laws by Andhra University. Author got Ph.D in History, Ph.D in Law and Doctor of Laws.
