The biosphere is the biological component of earth system, which also includes the lithosphere, hydrosphere, atmosphere and other "spheres" (e.g. cryosphere, anthrosphere, etc.). The book has been divided into 03 chapters and it presents the three basic components of biosphere: Abiotic (physical and inorganic) components; (B) Biotic (organic) components and (C) Energy components. The book provides in-depth coverage of major areas such as Industrial water pollution with additional coverage of nitrogen pollution, Common effluent treatment plant, Chemical and biological processes of wastewater treatment, Number of CETPs, their locations and capacities in India, Effluent guidelines and standards for its disposal and different molecular techniques are discussed as well.
