The present book entitled SYNTHESIS OF SOME NOVEL HETEROCYCLIC COMPOUNDS describes the synthesis of various classes of organic compounds, such as chalcones, pyrazolines, chromones, pyrazoles, β-diketones, esters, flavones, etc. and their biological evaluation. The pyridine and benzofuran ring are a prominent heterocyclic scaffold in lots of bioactive molecules. Numerous pyridine and benzofuran based compounds have been reported to display versatile bioactive, such as insecticidal, fungicidal, plant growth regulatory, anticancer, and antibacterial activity. Owing to the biological portent of pyridine and benzofuran moieties here we synthesized pyrazole aldehydes like 3-(benzofuran-2-yl)-1-phenyl-1H-pyrazole-4-carbaldehyde and 1-phenyl-3-(pyridin-3-yl)-1H-pyrazole-4-carbaldehyde and synthesized various derivatives of chalcones, pyrazolines, chromones, pyrazoles, β-diketones, esters, flavones, etc. All synthesized compounds were characterized by IR, 1H NMR, Mass, Elemental analysis, and screen their antimicrobial activities.
Dr. Namdeo Chavhan:He has completed his M.Sc. in Organic Chemistry from the University of Pune, Pune in 1998. After that, he completed his Ph.D. from Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University, Aurangabad. He has published 19 research papers and completed 02 minor research projects. He is having 20 years of teaching experience.
